Altitude Corrections

When diving at altidue (generally above 1000ft/300m), corrections need to be made to account for lower ambient pressures than those used to obtain the decompression models. The easiest, when using the Recreational Dive Planer (RDP) is to use theoretical depths in place of actual depth. This calculator allows you to determine a theoretical depth based on your current altitude and the depth used in the RDP.

Wetsuit Estimator

This Estimator provides a quick way to provide a Starting Point for finding a suitable wetsuit.
Enter as much information as you have to get a suggested wetsuit size recommendation together with some idea as to where it might be tight/loose. This size should not be considered a guaranteed fit as that will depend on several additional factor best determined by trying on a few different ones.

Weight Estimator

This tool provides an Estimated starting point for cases where you are diving in a new environment and have no prior experience. The best way to get your weight right is to keep a log book and to do a pre-dive bouancy check whenever you are using unfamiliar equipment or dive conditions.

Calorie Burn Estimator

The rate at which a diver burns calories is approximately proportional to their body weight. This calculator provides a way to estimate how much energy you burn during a dive.

Air Consumption Estimator

By comparing the density of air at different depths you can estimate how long your air will last based on a known data point. This assumes ideal conditions and should never be used for anything other than a quick estimate of how long your dive can last. Set the target value to zero (either depth or time)

Nitrox Calculator

For Nitrox (EANx) Air, a few numbers are important when planing your dives. Only Nitrox-Specialty Certified divers should use Cylinders containing Nitrox. Altitude corrections in this calculator derates the Max and Contingency Depths and provides a more shallow Equivalent Air Depth.
